
Mr. Bruce Lorich, Treasurer (2001-2007)
A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Lorich graduated from Cheltenham HS (1964) and Pennsylvania State University (1968) with an honors BA in English. As an undergraduate he actively participated in student government and various campus publications including yearbook editing. He then worked towards an MA degree in English from Penn State while on a teaching assistantship and completed the degree while working as an editor for a Philadelphia publishing company (1972). He then earned an MS degree in Library Science at Drexel University in Philadelphia (1974). He worked as an editor for National Geographic Society in Washington, DC, then moved to Hollywood, CA, to become a staff numismatist, editor-writer and advertising manager at Bowers and Ruddy Galleries, the most prestigious rare coin dealership in the country at that time. As a writer he contributed dozens of articles and book reviews to a number of publications. Self-employed since 1979 Mr. Lorich became a specialist in rare English coins with an office in Pasadena, CA. In the early-1980´s he moved his family and business to State College, PA. For many years he was a freelance cataloguer of rare coins, and has been a frequent consultant to auction houses in San Francisco and Beverly Hills, CA. He has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Western Europe since 1979. In his spare time Mr. Lorich is a novelist. Mr. Lorich resigned in May, 2007.
