ANNOUNCING:

Catalog 15 - Auction
The Abrams Collection:
Olympic Games & History of Sport

The COLLECTION:

One of the largest private research collections in the world on the subjects of the Olympic Games and History of Sport.

The Abrams Collection consists of approximately six thousand (6,000) items, primarily books and other printed matter, on the subjects of the Ancient and Modern Olympic Games, History of Sport, Physical Education, Sport in Art and sport subjects in general.

The collection is a major research library developed for historical use and contains Official Reports of the Olympic Games, daily programs, guides, rules and regulations, maps, results, participation lists, books, biographies and printed matter such as brochures and pamphlets. Also included are original posters, films, musical recordings, ephemera and miscellaneous collectables.

Printed material is primarily in English, German, Swedish and Finnish but at least 17 languages are represented. There are very strong sections on the ancient Olympic Games, the 1936 Berlin and Garmisch-Partenkirchen Games and probably the world's finest collection on the 1904 St. Louis Olympic Games.

The collection will be sold complete and unbroken, as one lot, to the highest bidder.

An estimate of the size and weight of the collection would be approximately twenty, eight-foot tall bookcases with a shipping weight of approximately four to six tons.
