---------------
The story about the IISOH and its sale of the statue ROCKY was picked up by the media worldwide. CNN broadcast the story Wednesday, February 4, at 6:26 PM Eastern time and newspapers worldwide have run the same story. The statue was listed on ebay for $3 million and the auction ended with a single bid that turned out to be fraudulant. The bidder was sent an invoice and a college student in Canada responded with a claim that he did not place the bid.
The IISOH re-listed the ROCKY statue on ebay Thursday for $3 million again. The Institute will continue to market the statue until a donor is found or the statue is sold.

The IISOH is using the ROCKY statue as a fundraising item. A Pennsylvania non-profit corporation, the IISOH is planning to construct a Library and Museum devoted to the History of Sport, Physical Education, Recreation, Dance, Sport in Art and the Olympic Games. The plan calls for a campus of 300 acres where these buildings, plus a theatre and restaurant, will be surrounded by sculpture gardens, sports fields and recreational facilities.
Other statues that are planned in the sculpture gardens include replicas made from molds of ancient Greek and Roman statuary such as the DISCUS THROWER. Sports fields and facilities will cover most of the planned campus so that every sport can have a venue for educational use and research. Recreational facilities are also planned such as playgrounds and research areas to test playground equiptment and safety issues.
